Bristol Cancer Help Centre - Certificate in Working with People with Cancer

Healthcare Professionals

Since Bristol Cancer Help Centre opened in 1980 healthcare professionals and complementary therapists have been keen to learn more about the Bristol Approach and how to use this more in their own practice. We currently train over 500 professionals a year across a variety of disciplines and themes. We run courses in the following areas for healthcare professionals.

  1. Looking after your patients
  2. Looking after yourself
  3. Advanced courses
  4. Expert Seminars
  5. University Accredited

We have a very experienced multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses and therapists working at the Centre, with great expertise in running successful courses for people with cancer. This has led to the development of courses and workshops that will enable healthcare professionals and careworkers to work more holistically and effectively with people with cancer and their supporters.

The NHS Supportive Care Strategy recognises the need for NHS staff to develop skills in holistic cancer care, and our courses and workshops can help you to develop and deepen new skills and ways of working with people with cancer. Accreditation is available on some of our courses.

There are also courses that will help professionals to develop strategies for looking after themselves and improving work/life balance.

"As a nurse also trained in massage, I have really benefited from learning how complementary and mainstream approaches can work hand-in-hand.  I am better equipped now to help all the people with cancer that I work with."
